Yoga with Scott
I've been a yogi for over 20 years and Teaching since 2010. I'm currently a 200 hr ERYT, 500 hr RYT with Yoga Alliance and 300 of my training hours are specific to the Shanti Yoga Practice: School for Alignment Based Yoga which informs the work of my Vinyasa based classes. I've completed additional training in Yin Yoga and other modes of working with body, mind, and spirit over the years. I am fascinated by the partnership of movement and breath and what lies in the stillness underneath. It is through this exploration that we all walk our paths and share something balanced that we can carry out into the world from our work. I try and make each class challenging, light-hearted, compassionate, and geared toward building upon a movement practice that many times offers a related challenge pose at the end of the work. I try to have a nice music soundtrack to accompany us when possible though our breath makes a nice background on other days. I look forward to seeing you on your mat and hope we connect. "I’ve been doing yoga with Scott for a little over a year and it has really changed my mind and body. I started as a complete beginner, and have grown more than I thought possible. I’m always learning something new about the practice and myself. Each morning I spend doing yoga with Scott helps me to have a more centered, positive and productive day. I’m very thankful to have found such a wonderful teacher to help me throughout my yoga journey. "

"Scott is hand’s down my favorite yoga teacher in Austin. His classes offer the perfect balance of athleticism with yogic movement and breathing. I love that he offers options throughout the sequence so that I can challenge myself if I feel like it, or go easy if I need a rest day. I did a virtual class with my 60+ year old mom (I’m in my early 30s) and we were both fully able to enjoy the class due to the options Scott offered, adjusting the moves to our respective abilities.
Scott is extremely talented and demonstrates advanced yoga moves without ever making the class too intimidating. The fact that each week he selects a goal pose or type of movement makes his classes continually interesting, and means that you get to address different parts of your body over the weeks.
Since March, I have been thrilled to be able to access Scott’s virtual classes through the Austin Townlake YMCA. While I miss seeing his smiling face in person, the online classes are just as good as the ones I used to attend in person. Even when there are both virtual and in-person students, Scott addresses both groups and makes sure everyone has a positive experience.
Scott is an excellent teacher on top of being a kind and generous person. I recommend Scott’s classes to everyone!"
